On Monday the girls made their second trip to Disneyland. After celebrating their cousin’s baptism in L.A. we headed down the 5 to visit Micky and the princesses. The girls had a wonderful time and we ran the gauntlet with a full 12 hour visit. Reese even managed to catch a nap on Gadget’s Go Coaster. The girls were fortunate enough to have a visit with Cinderella, Tiana, Ariel & Aurora. They loved the coaster in Toontown, making Dad sick on the tea cups and signing along to “It’s a small world”. Dad’s favorite part was seeing the smiles from all his girls and beating Tricia’s score on Astro Blasters.
Slip N Slide
Chalk one up to Mom digging through the bargin bin at Ross. For just $6.99 Payton & Dad had a priceless time slipping & sliding this afternoon. The Wham-O slip n slide — which has a warning label that’s not for adults — was the perfect cure to a hot a summer afternoon. After a few tries, P had it down. Though Dad thought it was appropriate to demonstrate proper technique. Looking forward to more slipping & sliding this summer, no matter what the warning label says.
Pescadero State Beach
My sister has already blogged about our recent trip to Pescadero State Beach, but my pictures show a much tamer crew.
Potty Goggles?
Peter Cottontail
Much has happend while I’ve been away from the internets. Some may have thought that I’ve stepped away from posting on the information super highway as my lenten penitence, but although man doesn’t live by bread alone grandparents shouldn’t be deprived of photos of the little ones. Here ends the lesson.
Right on queue with the revival are pictures from our Easter celebration. Somehow we managed a complete fail in capturing the girls in their Easter dresses. But I’m sure we’ll have them out in the near future so we can preserve them for posterity. So, the following photo set will have to do. Both girls did great with the Easter egg hunting and many of my co-workers were thankful they hauled in an abundance of sweets this year.
Waiting for the Rain
Sitting here waiting for the rain that is supposed to come and thought it would be a good time to post about last weekend’s wonderful weather outings. We spent Saturday at Bay Area Discovery Museum and Sunday we ran around in our underwear at the beach (well, not all of us thankfully).
In related sunny news from last week Payton became the first lottery winner in the family. She got a spot in the San Carlos Charter Learning Center for kindergarten next year.
Captain Underpants
February has marked the official start of potty training for Reese. She’s been doing great and big sister Payton is also enjoying the commissions from the incentive program we put her on. Get little sis to the potty and you also get to dip your fingers into the candy jar. (The dentist is also enjoying our incentive program).
Not only has Reese learned to get to the potty on her own, she’s adamant about putting on her underwear herself. Anyway she can.
Children’s Playground
We made our first trip to the Children’s playground in Golden Gate Park earlier this month. It was another outing with the Mo Bros and as usually their mom has covered it well.
Big props to Trish. She picked out the perfect box for the cement slides. Turns out that a produce box was the perfect width and size for the slides and fit those tiny bottoms (mine included) just right. The kids certainly got some speed, but the best was watching Aunt Jes not only sail down the slides but then make sure no other kids mistook the box for being communal property.
For the girls they enjoyed the sun, making a house for the lawn gophers, the carousel and climbing spider webs. Glad to know they still think a web is made of spiders and not http links.
February pictures are online.
